It’s the season for sharing, right? Wrong! At least, not this kind of stuff; colds and flu. The photo shows you how airborne bacteria is just looking for someone to infect. Let’s face it, we all get sick on occasion and we don’t always think about how we spread the stuff to our loved ones and anyone else in our path. This particular subject is a sore spot with me. The real problem is that people don’t think about what they are doing when they leave the confines of their home to go where ever to do this or that, and they CAN and they WILL “infect” other people when enduring upper respiratory infections. All I can say is, “Have a heart, will you?” Stay home OR don’t allow others to visit you when you are in this state of yuck. I used to work in the healthcare environment and I have seen it over and over again. We don’t take enough precautions in preventing the spread of sickness to others. Some of you may not even care, but you should, because, that is exactly why you have gotten sick in the first place. Someone else didn’t care enough to prevent you from getting sick either. Do you “get it?” Covering noses and mouths when coughing or sneezing, AND hand washing, and/or using hand antiseptic products is an absolute must, if we are to keep from spreading our germs to others. If you need to be around others for any period of time, wear a face mask readily available at any pharmacy or clinic waiting room. Please, won’t you “have a heart?” See the photo below for some tips.
